I have noticed that the Japanese do not use as many paper products as the Americans, maybe because they minimize waste at all cost. For instance, instead of using paper toilet seat covers in public restrooms, there are containers of Purell (antibacterial misters) in each stall. You are to spritz this on some toilet tissue and clean your seat before use, thus eliminating the amount of unnecessary paper being used. I think overall, this is cleaner than the American way.
